## How to attribute

Short form (press, footnotes, charts):

Source: Open Shelf — The Record (openshelfarchive.com/record),
    CC BY 4.0.

Long form (scholarly, archival, institutional):

Open Shelf. "The Record" (v{SCHEMA_VERSION}, {GENERATED_AT}).
    SHA-256 {HASH}. openshelfarchive.com/record/LATEST.json.
    Licensed CC BY 4.0.

Pin the SHA-256 hash from /record/manifest.md to cite an exact
version of the record. Any byte-for-byte change to LATEST.json
produces a different hash.

The record is the record. It is released so it can be used, kept,
mirrored, and cited — by journalists, scholars, librarians, and
districts — without permission and without paywalls.
